| Did you have anyone lead you through the trails? There are a few decent spots. Just nothing I'd travel several hours for. | |

| No one led us, we had a crappy map...and tried to piece our way through
We found a bunch of cool spots, but it was so crowded I was just getting pissed off, no one had any common courtesy that we ran into on the trails.
If we had the park to ourselves I could have a blast, so keep that in mind
But, yes, I will not travel 3 hours to go there again....well until I get my buggy

| Although one positive note...
Smoking was allowed throughout the whole park. Seems like a lot of places no longer allow it

| Well then there is not a soul who would view that as negative....except for maybe a young child less than 10 or so.... | |

| You can only go when they have open invites. Usually like 3 or so times a year. Its $10 per rig and $10 per person. | |

| OK kids lets not discourage everyone who might want to go because you came 3 hours away to wheel with a rear locker still not working and a malfuntioning winch. Big respect for not going and becoming a trail plug because you knew you had technical issues but there is a ton of stuff that more modified FJ's can navigate with no more than a few scratches from low hanging tree branches.
It was nice running into you guys but lets not give the park negative reviews unless you have a buggy until you try some of teh trails. Lower Laurel Lane, Upper Tank Trap, Easy St, 3 Way and hell even Ole Stumpy are well within reason for Dewey and Brian and some of the more armored trucks with larger tires and im sure there are others on here by now that I havent met that would love the park.
After my wedding We can try to get a date set up for us to do a private group ride with just the nc f cruisers and friends. That will allow me to a chance to show you guys around with out so much of the crowd.
So we got a few videos on youtube

I did manage to break all 4 bolts out of my motor mount toward the end of the day with an epic hill climb attempt.
Jumped over a 2ft ledge at teh top of a hill climb and the landing sheared the bolts off. Motor flopped all over the place on teh way back to the parking lot.

| first things first... I gotta get married... then i gotta fix my truck. Dont know how much of a PITA it will be to get those 4 bolts out of the block where they sheared off. I also want to get my truck geared a bit lower so I can use high range effectively. The flats is all about wheel speed. Even when its dry it is to slick to crawl a lot of those trails. | |

| I wasn't giving it a negative review. I had a ball out there. But most of the stuff there is out of peoples league with IFS Toyota's. | |

most of the trails are doable for anyone with one locker and some aromor and a winch just in case. The vast majority are just slick narrow hill climbs. You have to leave the main road to see what the trails are like. The parts you are watching people be crazy on easily bypassed with alternate exits just below the crazy sauce.

Hey there Stranger...my recommendation, fix the truck first, then get married, the other way around gets exponentially harder! Glad to hear you're alive and cant wait to see your truck.

| The truck has its own secction of our family budget... truck repairs and upgrades are paid for by US so WE can go wheeling together. | |
