I need help with my ome lift? Empty
PostSubject: I need help with my ome lift?   I need help with my ome lift? Icon_minitimeSun Sep 09, 2012 5:30 pm

I just compared my ome rear shocks to my zone offroad poop shocks. The ome's are 3 inches shorter, I then lined them up with my factory shocks they are identical length? My current setup is the 1 inch zone spacer kit thatadds 1 inch rear and 21/2 up front. I had to put my factory shocks on as the zone poop shocks failed leaked all oil out. So running the factory shocks with the zone kit makes the shocks my flex limiting factor. That means it is just a matter of time till i kill the valve seat for the shocks or it rips completely apart. I just don't want that. The shocks should never be the limiting it should be the bump stop.... I will be by my truck tearing it down please respond and if any who has this ome 3 inch please call me I don't wanna have to redo this as it is a bunch of work. My number is (828)423-1440 my name is Colin Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I finished it and it seems fine. I tested the flex and so far the shocks work perfect. The rear is riding great can't wait to get the front done as well hoping to get it done by saturday for richland rd and brown mtn. Oh yeah my rear end is sitting way higher than before whoo hoo.

PostSubject: So got it done.   I need help with my ome lift? Icon_minitimeSun Sep 23, 2012 12:12 am

So I got the lift done, and took it to richland rd the next morning. I ate a 1/2 tank of gas to lenoir. aprox. 6mpg. So my alignment was way out. Rode good though. Until I got to the trail, and then my left front had a clacking noise. I have done some research. It sounds like I may need to retighten my top nut on my coilover on the front driver side. People on blue room are saying it takes the heavies a good trail ride to get the intitial settling to happen, they say once they do the initial then you can retorque it, and then check it again after 500 miles. I am on it tomorrow, plus my obfd rails install. 280 miles ate 1/8" of the inside 3 inches of my front tires womppp. I should've done avisual alignement. I also did do a light racing uca install. That went smoothly.

Wow, that is an eye opener! Some lessons are best learned at someone else's expense and I wont forget that one! Very Happy I would not have thought the little bit of toe in at the top would have chewed that much rubber...was that all last Saturday?

Yeah I guess I was pplowing rubber down the mountain. It seemed to ride better on the way home, because I wore a flatter area for the tires to rest on I think.
