| I have the XM satellite in my truck and its the only thing i listen to in my truck..i love satellite radio however my radio cuts out alot...it cuts out in the strangest places In my tundra i had an aftermarket satellite radio and actually had the antenna in the cab on the dash and had 100% reception...Now in my FJ i have good reception overall except in a few weird places and i know that the antenna is on the roof in the rear of the truck.
does anyone else have this same problem? if so have you fixed it and how? my thought was that the antenna could be replaced with the antennas that come with sirius and xm aftermarket kits...

| I have issues with mine and I think has to do with rack being in the way and these certain areas have just enough tree cover to cause the issues. I had the portable antenna in my Tundra as well and it was on the back of the cab just over the sliding window (not pointing up) and never had problems like I do with this one. I'm interested in a fix too! |

| Paul i wonder what the antenna jack is like on the back of the FJ radio..and if one of the sirius/xm aftermarket antennas would plug in and work? | |

| Mine fades in and out all the time, especially near trees and on long cut through sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I also think it might have something to do with the roof rack and the antenna location - they should have mounted the antenna up front. I won't be signing up for XM Radio once my 90 day free trial is over - the fading issue is just too annoying to deal with on a daily basis.
Back to using my iPod. | |

| I though the XM signal cutouts had to do with trees on my south side, but today, in downtown Blowing Rock at Sunset and HWY 321, right in the open, it cut out, whenever I'm facing west. This has a lot to do with the roof rack and the antenna location, and not trees to my south side, which also affect the signal.
It's very annoying, the constant fading in and out, and I will not be signing up for XM radio once my 90 day free trial expires. For $200 a year, you can buy 200 songs to put on your iPod every year, which by the way works great in the glove box.
I love the iPod option and am using an older G4 iPod Nano 8G in the glove box. Works great with the new stereo in the 2013 TT.
