Hey guys, I just replaced the battery on my FJ and now the compass light is flashing. I set it as tge owner's manual instructs but it insists on flashing. Any ideas?

You might be at exact magnetic North. If you are not, then I can't help you anymore.

it will take you several times to actually get it right...anytime im welding on my truck i have to undo the battery...well needless to say it resets the compass...but i can give you a hint ...if your on a road that is call north main or east green...you can pretty much tell where your going...sun rises in the east and sets in the west...im just kidding..i mean it does rise in the east ..im just giving you a hard time...i seriously dont know why the compass is actually in a car...

I actually use my compass often, but mainly on cloudy days or nights when I'm in a new area since the sun doesn't help me too much. I'm not a big fan of navigation since you become dependent on it so quickly and lose your sense of direction when blindly following a computer...

I've never had any problem setting the compass per the directions in the manual. I've never had directions that tell you to drive in circles. Kinda fun!

The compass itself is working, but the cluster where the temperature is displayed is flashing the word compass.
