Skidaway Island State Park in GA (15 minutes from Savannah, 25 minutes from Tybee Island)

I did not stay here yet, but checked it out on my recent trip to Tybee Island. The park was nice enough and had about 6 miles of walking trails and nice views of the low country. The camp sites were very spacious and offered a good amount of privacy. I think the sites were $28 a night (less for tent sites) and had 30 and 50 amp electric sites. All of the sites came with water hook ups and cable television. There wasn't any sites with sewer, but there is a central dump station. The bathroom facilities were decent enough.

Tybee Island is a great family beach. Not nearly as commercialized as Myrtle Beach and during low tide is an awesome place for little kids. Lots of tidal pools to play in.

This is the same location during high tide.

Looks nice. I'll probably do a beach camping trip end of August, beginning of September sometime. I'll have to take a look at this again when it gets closer...

There is a campground on Tybee Island, but it is double the price and it is next to the water treatment facility for the island. The lots are incredibly small and they don't allow fires.

The lots at this place look huge - and private. Tresa was checking places at North Myrtle also. They have a campground geared toward the kids with some water slides and other stuff. We'll see which way it goes....

They are huge and every one has the ability to pull through. The wife and I love Savannah so we usually go to Tybee. There isn't any nightclubs, cruising, or too many hooligans walking the streets.
