So I've been getting larger debris in my air filter when I clean it. So I decided to make a simple reusable free pre filter. I did it while I was changing my oil and cleaning my air filter.
*cut 6x6 screen
*pull the bulb like piece of the intake before the flexible rubber hose
*stretch screen over the engine side of it
*i used a little electrical tape to hold the screen in place
*cut excess screen off
*reclamp hose and done
This should extend the life of a k&n and improve the ability to easily clean it. It should keep all large debris out of the air filter.
