Uwharrie 6-16 trip

I am planning on going to Uwharrie on this day. Anyone else care to join me?

Plans are, meet up at the old Outpost around 9:30 Saturday morning, ride out to 576 turn on 553, strating at Rocky Mountain Loop 92- Saw Mill 93- Slab Pile 79- Wolfs Den 89- Falls Dam 96- Dickey Bell 91- Rocky Mount Loop to Kodak. Stop for lunch on the trail somewhere along those lines. Not oppose to riding other trails out there or configurations. It just seems like this would be a good solid circle around the park.

You should start out on Daniel...then proceed with your route...just my thoughts...good obstacle to start on and only adds about 20 minutes. Plus it gets the pucker out of the way early...

Daniel is going to be impassable by most IFS rigs at this point, if you arent locked, forget it

Did something change since last month. I had no problem on the 18th...tricky but exciting.

Yea a lot changed. It used to be that I could walk up easily, when me and Tyler tried to do it we were forced to turn around after the first ledge, which is a huge PITA, took about 45 minutes to turn around. It is very sketchy and with an IFS rig you would do some serious leaning on the second ledge

Thanks for encouragement. I have only been up to the top of Daniel and back using mostly by passes when I was stock. This was the on the 553 entrance. Not saying I wont try it but I really wish I had some more heavy duty meats to roll on pirat

That is a great picture Scotty! Maybe we will start out at Daniel or maybe not. Depends on who's coming?

I may come if im not doing anything. And i'll try Daniel if you wanna do it, but yes the pucker factor has increased quite a lot over the past month.

I went down out of boredome tuesday night with my girl and rode up Daniel with no problems... I didnt even do the wheel stand like in the pic. Daniel has lost its appeal to me now as the ledges have filled themselves in with errosion or been taken out to recover the burnt jeep by the FS.

EDIT: I also dont care about dragging my ish up over rocks and smashing every skid plate under my truck into pancakes.

Yep, I'll be joining up with my 4th gen, an my buddy PD, will have his as well an be there. May have a jeep with us still up in the air with him he went to uhwarrie last night (to play in all the storms) I haven't heard how the ride ended lol.

Its lookin like today is the last day of rain for the uhwarrie area this week. saturday's lookin like a high of 80 low of 60 and sunny allll day!! and knowing uhwarrie it'll probably be back to a dust bowl over the next three days of partly cloudy weather lol. gonna be an awesome trip!!
