I will be taking my rig in on friday to toyota. I've been busy with work. I really hope they cover my repair. They would even tow my rig from west asheville to the jim barkley dealership. 8.2 miles wtf. I have to wait till friday for my aa coverage to kick in.

Hell they outta fix it for free. No way would I pay to have it fixed without arguing until I turned blue. It is a well known Toyota defect in the elockers that if you actually use them they break.

Nice footage. Gotta get me one of them GoPro's. Price is very reasonable for what you get.

I dropped my cruiser off today. They gave me a 2011 trd tundra quad cab the huge one really rides excellent, and has a lsd switch which lets you roast the tires. The 5.7 liter really is torky. I am pleased with my loaner. They said it shouldn't be a problem and are looking at my front right wheel bearing as it had a little play at my last tire rotation. I really hope I don't have to argue with these folks. They sounded confident that it would be covered. I have a 100,000 or 84 month warranty which I am still covered under.

how is your underbelly? is it dented and scratched? if its not then you are probably going to have no problem at all getting it fixed...if it is they may claim that it was due to "outside infuences" and may give you poop about getting it fixed...good luck though ...

Scratched and dented pretty good. I'm not worried though I haven't done anything I didn't see em do to the trail teams test rigs.

well that was the exact reason they told me that they werent going to cover mine...because it had been sratched and dented by "outside influences"....
Good luck though....seriously

A woman first called me to say I am so sorry to tell you that your rear axle is fully broken. I said you mean my ring and pinion gears, and she said no you ruined the whole back of your truck. I said ok del it should be fully covered regardless. She said you have no warranty and it'll be $2,650 for the rear end and $750 per side for wheel bearings. I said I am fully covered let me speak with your supervisor. She connected me he then pulled my warranty and said sir you will be fully covered. This is a corporate rouse to make unaware folks pay even with a warranty. This needs to be made aware to as many as possible especially in the forums. As soon as I spoke with the supervisor he found my info wtf. They called me today to question me about how I use my vehicle. I told them it is a work rig. They asked me about if I did any hardcore offloading. I said it is a privately owned rig that is used as toyota marketed it. I said I explore local fire roads and follow em where they take me. They said it was all covered. I had them check my wheel bearings in the front as well, and they are replacing both for free!!!!! super stoked now

I got my truck back and they fully replaced my 3rd member unit including a new elocker even though mine was fine. They also replaced both my front wheel bearings. I met a chill guy who works there He said they are starting a offroading based sector of their dealership. I asked if they would be interested in doing a forum gathering their and they said yes. They are also organizing a meet at Gulches. The guy I talked to has a nice 100 series v8 land cruiser with a lift and arb bumpers. He is supposed to email me soon and link up with ncfj as well. They had no problem with my warranty because they lift and sell lifted rigs all the time. We are in the mountains so I guess it is an easy sell. I am super stoked to have my rig back with a whole new rear end.

got off the phone earlier with a woman from high up at Toyota Corporate and was informed that the "big dawg head honcho of toyota america had gotten my letter and he was infact moving all the info to be investigated...so they are absolutely looking into my case and even though she didnt say it outright they are looking at possibly refunding the money i spent with ECGS....we'll see im certainly not at all holding my breath....who knows...

That's great I hope it pans out. I was definetly nervous till I got a green light. I was so scared after they told me what it would cost through toyota. I could've done it at a 10th of the cost.

Colin , great news on the truck thats great .Luckily the Service Manager out there and the dealership understand that the geographic location of the dealership coupled with the fact that the dealership itself does modifications made it easier to push things through .A dealership here in the east may have given you alot harder time .Even though the vehicle is a 4x4 alot of times extended warranty companies even Toyotas will look to deny first and then make you slug it out with them for coverage.
